Nina Burrowes - Working with survivors of abuse

This session, delivered by psychologist Dr Nina Burrowes, will explore the psychology of child sexual abuse, domestic abuse and sexual violence. It will examine the short and longer term impacts of trauma, the psycho educational information that can be useful to share with clients, and make space to specifically focus an aspect that is too often neglected in this work - the impact that these experiences can have on sex and intimacy. This session will also explore how undertaking this type of work with clients can have an impact on our own sex lives.

Nina Burrowes is a psychologist who works with people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, sexual exploitation sexual harassment, rape and domestic abuse. She has published a number of books on these subjects and regularly writes in The Guardian, Telegraph and Observer.
