Members Workshop - Hans Frankham

Saturday, 6 May 2017 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm

Hans Frankham will be presenting this workshop and his subject is "Counselling and Psychotherapy - the Art of the Obvious"

Can this really be true? Taking the title of this workshop from Bruno Bettleheim's book of the same name, Hans will seek to explore whether we as counsellors and psychotherapists  miss so much of what is readily available on the surface of what the client is presenting - and that all the time our clients are actually communicating what is needed from the relationship. Through a combination of theoretical input, examples from working practice, and practical exercises, Hans will seek to provide an opportunity for participants to identify and build upon their existing knowledge and skills with a view to increasing their capacity to recognise "the obvious" - and how to apply this for the benefit of the client.

Hans is a BACP senior accredited psychotherapist and the Head of Service at the Arun Counselling Centre in Littlehampton. He had a private practice in London, was manager of a Social Services Emergency Duty Team, and has been a senior lecturer, trainer, and supervisor in both social work and in counselling. He holds an MSc in Counselling Psychology, an MA in Psychoanalysis and a Diploma in Supervision.
