2.00-2.15 First thoughts on the individual and social impact of COVID19  (Janet and Mary)

A dialogue raising the issues of:

  1. Perspective of time and geography
  2. Mental suffering caused by lack of visiting (families, dementia sufferers, the physically vulnerable)
  3. The relative value of human life (the older, the uses and abuses of political power).

2.15- 2.40 Working in groups or pairs identify the issues that have been highlighted about ourselves and society in the present situation? (Group discussion with an agreed reporter to the main group for 10 minutes from 2:30 pm)

2. 40-3.00 An introduction to the impact of the virus on private practice and counselling services  (Janet and Mary)

3:00 – 3:20 – Mary on counselling services

3:20-3:40 -    Janet on private practice

3.00- 3.20 Remaining in the same group or pair discuss the changes in practice that have proved to be successful management strategies.

3.20- 3.30 A celebration of Survival.



Mary Aswin, AIP FPC UKCP MBACP, originally trained and worked as a medical social worker and later worked for a Local Authority specialising in Childcare, Family Therapy, Fostering and Adoption. She has many years of experience as a psychotherapist and supervisor.
