Integrating Attachment and Family Life Cycle Concepts and Theories – Week 2

Saturday, 23 January 2016 - 9:30am to 5:00pm

Trainer: Helen Riseborough (Consulting and Training Solutions)

This two day practice based workshop focuses on how attachment theory is essential knowledge for counsellors working with clients who are experiencing life stage change.  Attachment concepts and how to apply the ideas across the life span will be outlined and integrated with family life stage theory – these concepts will be illuminated by practice vignettes.  The focus on both integration and attachment research (including neuroscientific findings) will provide participants with a fresh and vitalising lens through which to view and reflect on their practice.

Participants from previous workshops have fed back that they have left the workshops invigorated and able to use attachment ideas directly in relationship with their clients – whatever their work context.  Pre-reading and references to latest research into attachment theory throughout the life course will be provided.

The workshops will be facilitated by Helen Riseborough, a BACP Senior Accredited Psychotherapist who has had many years’ experience working with families, couples and individuals of all ages within both statutory and non-statutory agency contexts and her own practice.  Helen also teaches on counselling and psychotherapy courses within higher and further education.  She founded Consulting & Training Solutions in 2010 in response to a need for practice based continuous development for qualified counsellors.  All CPD’s and workshops offered are endorsed by BACP.  BACP have endorsed this workshop as fulfilling 12 hours of CPD for qualified counsellors.  Certificates of Attendance will be issued at the workshop.
